The system enables you to create a dynamic rule.
To create a dynamic rule
On the navigation pane, click the
Create New Rule link.
The Create Rule screen appears.
Specify the following field details.

Select the rule type from the drop-down list. | ||

Result Fields Using this section you can specify the rule result fields. This is a mandatory section. |

Select the required table, from the Select Table drop-down list, Select the required column, from the Select Column drop-down list.

Select the appropriate action from the drop-down list (for example, Display), and then click the Add button to add the selected column in the selected output list. | ||
Show [Distinct] |
If output needs to have different values in all rows then select the Distinct check box. | ||
Selected Output |
All the added columns appear. Remove: Click this button to remove any added column from the Selected Output list. Up: Click this button to move the selected column in the Selected Output list one level above. Down: Click this button to move the selected column in the Selected Output list one level below. | ||
Caption |
All the added columns appear. Select the column whose caption is to be changed and click the Change Caption button. An Enter new caption dialog box appears. Type the new caption and then click the OK button. | ||
Selections This section is used to create conditions to be applied on rule. This is a mandatory section. |

Left Entity |
First select the required table from the Select Table drop-down list, then select the required column from the Select Column drop-down list, then select the Aggregate functions from the None drop-down list (if required), and finally the operator from the Operators drop-down list. This forms the left part of the condition. | ||
Right Entity |
If you want right part of the condition to be constant then click the first option and type the value of the constant. If you want right part of the condition to be compared with another column of another table then click the second option and select the required table from the Select Table drop-down list and the required column from the Select Column drop-down list. The third option is available when selected column in the Left Entity section is a lookup column. Lookup columns are ones, for which entries are created using the Lookup Master option from the Master menu. Click the third option and select the lookup values as required. | ||
Apply |
Click this button after specifying the Left Entity and Right Entity. | ||
Condition(s) |
After clicking the Apply button, condition appears in this section. If it is a normal condition then it appears in the first list box and if it is an aggregate condition then it appears in the second list box. You can add multiple conditions. AND: If all conditions are to be fulfilled use the AND relationship. Select all the conditions to be fulfilled, from the Condition(s) list (both normal and aggregate conditions), and then click the AND button. OR: If any one condition is to be fulfilled use the OR relationship. Select the conditions out of which any one can be fulfilled, from the Condition(s) list (both normal and aggregate conditions), and then click the OR button. | ||
Generate Condition |
Select only one condition from each condition list and then click the Generate Condition button to create the final condition. | ||
Final Condition |
After clicking the Generate Condition button, the final condition appears in this list box. |
Do any one of the following:
Click the View Results button to view the result
immediately.
The Rule Violations screen
appears.
To export the result to a .csv file
Click the Export
to CSV button.
A File Download dialog
box appears.
Click the Save
button.
A Save As dialog box
appears.
Select the location where you want to save the file, from the Save in drop-down list.
Type the name of the file in the File name field.
Click the Save
button.
Once the download is complete, the file gets saved at the selected
location.
Open the file when required.
Click the Save
button to save the rule.
A message appears about successful addition of dynamic rule on
the Dynamic Rules List screen.
Click the Clear button to clear the specified values on the Create Rule screen.
